Each year, Highland participates in Samaritan
Purse's Operation Christmas Child. Highland members prepare hundreds
of shoe boxes for this special ministry. A shoe box packed with
gifts may not seem much to us, but to a small child in a war torn
country it is Christmas. Help us
brighten a child's Christmas. For more information, contact
Georgeanna English at 485-2147 or e-mail gbebanana@aol.com.
Urban Ministry
Fayetteville Urban Ministry needs volunteers to help
in the office, food pantry, clothes closet and the literacy program
for adults. For more information or to volunteer, contact Urban
Ministry
at 483-5944.

2 Cents A Meal
Giving just 2 cents a meal is a great way to provide
for the hungry on local, national and international levels. A
ministry of the Presbytery of Coastal Carolina, it involves members
in over one hundred churches. We collect the money each Wednesday
evening and every quarter in worship. Highland members are actively
involved in this program. To begin the program in your home contact
George Crumbley at 485-2147.

Doers of the
Word Day
A great tradition at Highland. It begins on a
Saturday with many projects - going off-site from the church to
neighborhoods to help those who are unable to do carpentry,
painting, yard cleaning, etc. Other projects include assembling
cleaning buckets with cleaning supplies, making hygiene kits, food
bags and delivering to sites where needed. Please contact Georgeanna English at
485-2147 or e-mail gbebanana@aol.com
for more information.

Food Pantry
The Highland Food Pantry is open every Thursday
afternoon from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. for needy families that are

The Tutoring Program
Tutoring children in grades 2-5 from the Hay/Branson
area each week is a joy. We meet each Tuesday afternoon, from
4:00-5:30pm throughout the school year. We also meet in the computer
lab on Thursdays from 4:00 - 5:00.
We
are always looking for new tutors. No experience is needed and
training is provided. If you are interested, contact Georgeanna
English at 485-2147 or e-mail gbebanana@aol.com..
if you would be willing to help with this important
outreach ministry.

Mission Bible School
Our Mission Bible School is held the fourth week in
June every year. Through service projects, our children and adult
leaders learn the importance of sharing God's love in our community.
Contact Georgeanna English at 485-2147 or e-mail gbebanana@aol.com
for more information.

Highland Assistance Fund
Highland regularly provides emergency assistance
(utilities, rent, etc.) to people with special needs. These funds
are limited and are disbursed on Wednesdays only. Cash funds are
also available. Call Sammy Holden, Business Administrator at the
church, at 485-2147, for more information or to make a contribution
to this fund.

Interfaith Hospitality
This is a community response to families who have
become homeless and is quite an outreach. We house a maximum of four
families (14 people) in our church for a one week
period of time. We do this four times a year. The families are in
our church from 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. We especially need Overnight
Hosts, Evening Hosts, people to prepare food, and people to set-up
and clean-up on Sundays from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Please
prayerfully consider joining us in this Ministry. This ministry
depends strongly on donations of household items, appliances,
furniture, etc. If you have something you would like to donate, or
want to volunteer your time, call Lenore Johnson at 484-6456.

Thanksgiving Day Dinner
Our annual Thanksgiving Day Dinner for those less
fortunate is a great ministry at Highland.. Volunteers are needed
for cooking, delivering and serving more than 1,700 meals. We look
forward to this year's dinner with great anticipation. If you would
like to volunteer, or need more information call 485-2147.

Sharing Tree
Each year we adopt families who would
otherwise have no Christmas. To help these families enjoy the
season, a Christmas tree is placed in the Fellowship Hall for
members to choose an angel and purchase a gift for the person
whose name is on the ornament. The Angel Tree consists of
families from Interfaith Hospitality.
