Week 1: Adopted as God's Own

May 30, 2021
Primary Text: Romans 8:12-17
Big Idea of the Message: Through the work of Jesus and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we are adopted as God’s sons and daughters.
Application Point: Rest in your adoption, and know that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are on your side.

It is important to know that God has relationships among his three persons. At the same time, the more important knowledge for us is that we have been brought into those relationships. We call God the same thing Jesus does. We cry out in the same way the Holy Spirit does. God cares for us the same way he cares for Christ. Because of the death and resurrection of Christ and the work of the Holy Spirit, we confess that God is our Father, and we know that he is.
