Hunkered Down Devotion

Psalm 86:7 (Voice)
7 When times of trouble come, I will call to You because I know You will respond to me.

Most days, as I sit down to write these devotions, they end up being significantly longer than I intend them to be.  This is, of course, not at all shocking to any of you that know me at all.  Ha! But even I really do believe and understand that sometimes less is more.  Sometime, most of the time, in fact if we let them, the words of scripture really do speak for themselves.

So, today, let us look at and listen to the important words of wisdom from Psalm 86: When times of trouble come, I will call to You because I know You will respond to me.  What an amazing promise.  What wonderful words of comfort, hope, and peace.  

In a world that is broken and seems to be more and more divided every day, there may be nothing more comforting and reassuring for us than knowing that the God that created not only us, but the universe and all that is in it, is with us, hears us, and is waiting to respond to us when we call out to him.

God knows us, God hears us, God will respond when we call.  Amen.
