Hunkered Down Devotion

Galatians 6:9-10 (Voice)
9 May we never tire of doing what is good and right before our Lord because in His season we shall bring in a great harvest if we can just persist. 10 So seize any opportunity the Lord gives you to do good things and be a blessing to everyone, especially those within our faithful family.

Some things are easier said then done and the suggestion found in this passage from Galatians – never tire of doing what is good and right – is definitely one of the things that falls into that category.  But in these two short verses the author of Galatians clearly lays out just what is at stake, and what can be gained if we are able to persist and persevere in following in the way of Jesus and doing what is good and right.

If we can be lights in this dark world, if we can share God’s love and shine God’s light in our world with our neighbors, we can be a blessing to everyone.  This is a great opportunity.  A bigger, better opportunity than we often realize in the moment.  The little, small kindnesses we deliver may seem inconsequential, but God promises to multiply them exponentially into a great harvest of blessing if we simply persist in sharing them with those around us.

Never tire of doing good.  Never tire of being kind.  Never tire of helping others.  In so doing we can change the world by sharing God’s love one small act of love at a time.

Sharing God’s Love,
Chip

Prayer: Lord, give us the strength we need to persist in doing good in your name.  Amen.
